Thats true love if I ever saw it ltsarcasmgt The plot? What plot? Edward and Bella staring doe eyed at each other for the major part of four whole books does NOT constitute any sort of plot. And James showing up in the last quarter of the first book was too little, too late. Not to mention the messages! From New Moon, we learn that when dumped by our significant other, we should attempt suicide to hallucinate their return. From Eclipse, we learn to lead on two different men, at once! And from Breaking Dawn, we learn that Stephenie Meyer is batshit crazy and cements the fact that her writing went off the deep end and drowned in the crazy pool. Oh, and lets not forget the glorification of abusive relationships, pedophilia and child grooming! Theres plenty of that to go around in Meyers wet dream of a series. brbrHarry Potter will always be better than Twilight, on every single scale. I think that most of us quotreadersquot got hooked on reading by reading a great book. The Talisman by Stephen King amp Peter Straub was the one that got me hooked. What was yours?

Perhaps not one book but several. Under the eaves in our attic there was a chest containing the books my father read as a young man. I used to curl up beside it when I was very young and read by the daylight coming in under the eaves. This was a long time ago, in the s and s. The ones I clearly remember are all the Tarzan stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs, all of Zane Greys Westerns, Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton Porter. The first really lengthy and complex book I remember clearly that really converted me was The Last Days of Pompeii, read when I was in the th grade. The next one I clearly recall was Gone With the Wind, read when I was . I started to read voraciously in the first grade, exhausted the elementary school library, then exhausted the high school library. I have continued to haunt libraries, spend an inordinate amount of money on books, read at least one per day, grew up to become a teacher of literature.

The first two books added little to the main plot, though they did set up character development and explain a lot of things. Id say those two were the least entertaining, though none of the books can honestly be called boring, at least to me, as theyre astounding.
